I am an experienced, fully qualified Counsellor and I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). My membership means that I am fully committed to working to the best professional practice and I am guided by their ethical framework. My accreditation means that I have achieved high standards of knowledge, experience and development in the field of counselling. What this means for you is that I am a caring, sensitive practitioner offering high professional standards.
I work in a Person-centred way which means the counselling I offer is non-directive. I will be led by you and we will only go at a pace that suits you. I will not pressure you into revealing information you are not ready to talk about. I will work with you sensitively and respectfully to understand and accept your experience without judgement. Often it is only when we find ourselves in a safe, non-judgmental environment that we feel able to begin to know ourselves better and find the resources to change. By working together this is what I will support you to do.
We all sometimes struggle with life experiences. This may be due to relationship difficulties, bereavement, depression or anxiety. You may have experienced abuse or may be questioning your identity and need someone to talk to. Whatever your reasons I can offer a safe, confidential and empathic relationship in which you can share your experience. By supporting you to explore and deeply reflect on your concerns this can lead to clarity, a greater understanding and a way forward. Whilst this process may feel difficult it can lead to a greater sense of well-being.
I can offer short and long term counselling with people of all ages.
Please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss your needs further.
